More inspiration from Tate Liverpool

As well as seeing the Sylvia Sleigh exhibition, we also took a mooch around the sculpture galleries at the Tate, I found a few pieces I liked in here - which is rare has I'm usually not a big fan of sculpture. Looking at the pieces I liked here and at my current work, I'm finding myself drawn more to shapes, and marks creating patterns, very unlike my usual style of illustrative designs. (The first piece of each artist are the ones which I saw at the Tate and the following are some of their other works)

Richard Long

Lucio Fontana

Cornelia Parker

Tate Liverpool: Sylvia Sleigh

I've just come back from a couple of days visiting Liverpool, and I'm slightly in love with the accent. While there I went to the Tate Liverpool, completing my Tate collection and I'm now able to proudly say I've visited all four, yay! Tate had an exhibition on by the artist Sylvia Sleigh, whom I wasn't aware of previously. I wasn't sure at first if I liked her works, but after walking around the gallery my opinion was totally in her favour, they're amazing. Not only are the paintings brilliant, but each one is packed with patterns and colour. Below are a few of my favourites.
