Time fly's...

It's recently come flying at me that its almost a year since my final ever university hand in, and hitting me even harder is recognising that I'm not in the position I thought I might be in a year ago. Not that I even really knew what I wanted a year ago, I just knew I wanted a rest from the deadlines and stresses that come with third year, and its fair to say this last year has given me that. I think perhaps I underestimated just how short a year is, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

My upcoming first anniversary for leaving uni, has made me realise just how much I'm missing being creative. It's a lot harder being self-motivated to design than I thought. Not that I've been unmotivated, its just slipped, other things have taken over and here we are, one year on, with not quite the full ideas busting out sketchbooks I would have liked. So I think its time to get back in the creative game, I love drawing and I don't want to miss out on another year of it.

So when I reach my second anniversary of leaving I want to look back on a more productive year, and that starts with my blog; I will post more, I will draw more, more patterns will be made, more exhibitions will be visited, sketchbooks will be filled and I'll finish knitting all the socks I started!!

pretty snaps

I've been back for a few weeks now, the sadness of being back in cold rainy England is slightly wearing off and the time to blog again is upon me! Before I delve into what I've been up, here are some pretty snaps I took while away, hopefully some will inspire me and help me to remember what the sun looks like!!

taking down the postcards

Today, worryingly I think might be the last time I head into LCC, well at least for now. Our show closed on Saturday so it was time to take down our work, pack it up and trek home,  slightly resembling a pack horse. It felt really sad taking down my postcard wall, so naturally I took loads of pictures, and thankfully it was a lot quicker taking them down than it was putting them up.

Despite this show coming down, I got some lovely news in getting the opportunity to show at new designers. Alongside not only some of my course mates but other university's from across the country. My course is taking part in part 1 of new designers,  from the 26th- 29th June, for more information check out their website - new designers. eeee i'm hoping this will be a fun couple of days.

bye-bye lcc, i'll miss you <3

bye-bye postcard wall, i shall miss you too

Un-happy accidents

I've been applying my final decals to ceramics ready for the kiln, sadly three of my plates cracked, a not-so-happy accident. I've still got two more of the same style plate to be fired, fingers crossed they wont crack too. Luckily I had quite a few more ceramics so all was not lost. These are some of them...

lets go camping

The sun finally seems to be coming out and staying out, to an extent! This has made me very happy has my project is based on summer, and without sunshine its slightly harder to get into that mind set. yay sunshine. These are some of the prints i've been working on this week.
